Hi, first post so please go easy on me!
I'd consider myself a competent diy-er and in the past have succesfully laid ceramic tiles on a solid floor.
I've now got an en-suite shower room in which I want to lay travertine mosaic tiles. The flooring is green moisture proof chipboard, and it's a...

Hi guys,
Advise would be appreciated-
Tiling on 22mm chipboard, over-plyed with 9mm boards, with 1 part adhesive but some tiles appear to be de-bonding.
Some slight movement in the floor, would a 6mm cement board help this? Or any other suggestions?
thanks

If this has been asked before I apologise, maybe someone can point me to a thread that covers this. I see many posts where tilers mention that, on wood, they don't tile without putting ditra down first and other posts mention just backer board or ply/backerboard. The question is when is it best...

Hi all, a plumber here. My wall tiling isn't bad as I take a lot of care over it, but I haven't done that much floor tiling.
I've got a bathroom (1.7m x 1.9m) and a small cloakroom to do. It's an old house and the existing floor boards are all over the shop. Very uneven with gaps and corners...

I recently knocked through our kitchen dining room. The floor is a suspended wooden ground floor (flat edge floor boards) in a 1930's bungalow.
I'm looking to lay 600 x 600 porcelain tiles, but I want to add as little as possible height to the floor as possible.
The floor seems very...

I started marking out today, in an attic. Floor boards and the plumber has already put an Imply tray in, plus the sticky membrane. I was going to put in ditramat mat, but as the plumber has now done this, do I need the ditramat mat?
I need to tile a kitchen and bathroom in a first floor flat with wooden floors, so they need to be soundproofed to comply with the changes to regs 2004 part E (resistance to the passage of sound). Does anyone know how to do this and where the products can be found to do it?
I have read that you...
