10mm porcelain on skim?

Afternoon all,

Just came from sister inlaws, she's having bathroom walls tiled (not by me!). She has chosen 10mm porcelain (300x600) there are 6 in a 25kg pack which covers 1m sq and is planning on fixing them onto skimmed plasterboard. I have advised her that these tiles are too heavy - exceeding the recommended limit of 20kg/m sq for skim on plasterboard. Personally I would not do this - Am I correct? Am I being over cautious? Is she in for trouble?

Thanks everybody in advance.

Dave, haven't wieghed them but if it was 5 allowing for addy and grout would you do it?

Tell her to make sure she wears a safety helmet when she is in the shower or on the look, quite hurt when they fall on your head.

they are only just over but it is hard to say if i would fix them it all depends on the condition of the walls.
