All mine are 3KVAs one of them is really noisy, and was told when it's on to hit the side with a big hammer to stop plates inside from vibrating:yikes: just haven't had the bottle to try it.

Was it the same guy that thinks they are full of sand? :mad2:


Dont hit it, get it checked by an electrician or buy a new one.

mine are also 3KVAs and are 18kgs !!!! its ridiculous. you can get a light weight transformer around 10 kgs i think but its almost double in price. :8:

diamond that was me not richard from kent who had a mate who said it was full of sand !lol .. i think my mates head was or is full of sand ha ha !

Your transformers are called isolation transformers the input voltage is 230v and output is 110 v. There is a primary and secondary winding which is copper wire they are isolated from each other and the voltage is developed with the magnetic field. The copper windings are wrapped around an iron core which is very heavy. Larger transformers for hotels eg weigh several tonnes.
