diamond that was me not richard from kent who had a mate who said it was full of sand !lol .. i think my mates head was or is full of sand ha ha !

At a guess i would say that it needs to be earthed ,never gave it much thought before.Although my back has screamed out a few times:yikes:

Your transformers are called isolation transformers the input voltage is 230v and output is 110 v. There is a primary and secondary winding which is copper wire they are isolated from each other and the voltage is developed with the magnetic field. The copper windings are wrapped around an iron core which is very heavy. Larger transformers for hotels eg weigh several tonnes.
