1st job

hi all, a bit advice is needed here please,im nearly finished my 1st job which is a small bathroon,walls are plasterboard with no skim on top and the boxed in bath is marine ply. i did not prime the walls as was sure this didnt need done if its just board thats up and i primed the marine ply with pva a mix of 5 to 1 which did seem quite watery,,is this correct>?/? i know i should not use pva but client was adamant he was suplying all the adhesives etc so pva is what i was given ..any advice is gr8 cheers

NO to pva, I know that some customers have been given naff advise I would have refused and put my primer on or said that if it fails it's not your fault, what addy did he supply by the way.

keep your fingers crossed, get him to sign a waiver that he supplied the mats and insisted on their use and await the recall.

hi,,cheers he gave me granfix rapid set for the fllor and granfx flexible tubbed for the walls,,by the way should i have primed the walls if its just board?

Afraid so kilty, there is a chance that the unprimed plasterboard will have soaked the moisture out of the adhesive too quickly and could cause you some problems.

Its a good learning curve for you kilty,next time tell customer no pva and stick to your guns mate...............good luck......
