i saw reading the thread and thought oh no!
i hate thin tiles because they are a pain in the backside to cut,i've got a sigma and a big clinker for medium-large tiles and a wee cheapo dry cutter for smaller tiles but alway find that the thinner the tile the harder they are to cut, sometimes i lay cardboard on the bed unde the tile,i was thinking about one of the smaller rubi's and was wandering what everyone else used for thin tiles

I either score with the rubi TS then bite off with nippers or on the a little cheap wet saw I have, it doesnt seem to vibrate to much, not much use for anything else but seems to do well on thin mosaics. Good thread, Il be interested to know what the others use.

I have a sigma cant remember the model no. but it cuts upto 600 and you can raise and lower the bar depending on the thickness of the tile to be cut, its great being able to alter this! I have got a small sigma which i use for mosaics which you can get a whole sheet in and the bar moves on this one too.

also got rubi cutters but i think you may have to use cardboard on the breaker for the thinner tiles, I have in the past put rubber bands around the breaking foot for delicate tiles this may also work for thin tiles will have to try it out some time..

Know what you mean m8, the rubi sometimes struggles with thin tiles, quite fancy tryin a monolit but not heard much about them, like the idea of the mosaic mat to go with it though.

the thin tiles 3mm resin backed will cut with a normal glass cutter scored as per tile cutter :8:score and crack don't think ill see a lot of thin stuff as its expensive

Never had a problem with cutting thin stuff on a Sigma. Might help to raise the bar up a bit and use less pressure.

I cut by hand with an oil fed glass cutter. (doesnt need the oil btw) I guess it depends on how many you have to do!

The rubi plus cutters can cut very thin tiles no probs.. and no adjusting.. score and pull.
