i used to have a single rail rubi cutter and didnt like the non direct line of site. took some getting used too but was great on porcelain. maybe different horses for different courses. i now have tr400 & tx 700 in my toolkit.

so far everyone is talking sigma/rubi. i have seen a tomecannic supercoupe which the americans give really good reviews on, it is a single rail cutter; anyone have experiance with one of these Tomecanic Supercut Tile Cutter Demonstration - YouTube SUPERCOUP Tile cutter. - YouTube

Practical differences; My Rubi was sold with a carry case, lighter easier to transport around.
A twist of the handle and you can change the cutting blade.
The push forward cutters are easier to learn to cut with imo.

Sigma; I like having the measuring gauge under my eye, (rather then looking over the length of the cutter)
Cuts porcelains cleaner then the rubi
Sturdier built

As a rubi user through and through I've always had a strong opinion on sigma users and that's they're dirty and you shouldn't leave your children with them. But why? Why do we fight so? I've never even touched a sigma, they could be amazing! And it's true the ts60 is absolute pants. I don't even clean mine anymore to hasten the day that I have to replace it. May even get a sigma. There I said it. Feel like I just came out the closet, so liberating to get that off my chest

i saw a video posted by deano tile in a different thread. i think it was for a rubi tx n series . it looks good. scribed nice and snaped cleanly. if i ever buy a larger cutter (my sigma only cuts 12 " ) il seriously consider it. +i love tool boxs

Don't get the N just get the standard one with the shorter measuring bar...

i think i have enough tiling tools for now. i just need to make them pay now. althow just when you think you have enough a job pops up where you need something. i dont believe in hireing tools if im going to need it again(reason i bought myself a sigma. hire was 30 a day, bought for 120. paid for itself already)
