a message to the d.i.y'ers...

Someone must put an end to tile abuse, these things have a manufacturing cost and fitted correctly should last 30+ years minimum! How long would that last before they started falling off the wall from the bottom up!

Oops, should have watched this video first.. Just finished my bathroom and got through 100 tubes of out of date Gripfill as it was cheap. Made sure the plasterboard off cuts received plenty of PVA when I stuck them to the wall so the tiles will stick to the plaster that sounded a bit hollow.

Going to finish the grouting with left over bread sauce tomorrow ;P

Jon.

Ajax is right, there are several classes of adhesive dispersion , D class ,cementious C class and reaction R class Silicon would come under R class and would be used in certain circumstances with particular products with certain substrates it's not what most pros would use in this circumstance but can be an option when needed for some difficult substrates .

Pricey but there is no reason that I can see why tiles should not be stuck on with Silicon...
I used some tubes of a product similar to silicon some months ago to stick a few tiles that we're bridging screed and plastic.did not give any guarantees but so far so good.will look up name when I can get in to garage.specialist product used by artisans

When I first started out I looked on you tube for videos to give me a helping hand with things. Some were ok, but then you come across this kind of rubbish.

as others have said, it is worrying that this video has received 'likes'.

This is is definitely a video of how not to tile!
