I did a small wet room last week, and the neighbour asked me to sort out his bathroom.

He had this Hungerian tiler tile his bathroom in fake limestome, 12 mm thick ceramic stuff. Basically, 2 walls fell off! So last week I looked at it, explained the fella didn't prime the walls at all! Looking at the tiles that had come off, the addy on the back of the tiles were full with dust!

The client got some BAL primer, and off I went yesterday! Ouch!!! Not only did the client, nor the previous tiler, had the walls plastered, the tiler chose to dot & dab the tiles on! It does look inpressive, but tile under the sink the client asked me to take off because they have cracked within 2 months, were the same, dust and old wall plaster upon them.

The client then asked me today to see a flat he rents out, all in SE London. He asked me to look at the floor in a bathroom, 50 % of them had fractures, so I picked one up, I couldn't believe it, on wood, and 4 big dobs!

He had both rooms done for 600 notes, so far its cost him 350 notes co correct!

Funny old life tiling. Back tomorrow....more cracked floor tiles.

I've seen a return of the 'dot and dab' recently..just been to sort out a wet room where the owner dropped something on the floor and 'pop' smashed a tile..inch and a half dot and dab all over..re-tiled the lot.
Long live the cowboy I say..ha ha ha!

And to cap it all off, the client asked me to come and look at the window today. Drove the 1 hour to the flat, he only wanted a dab of Mapei Silicon tile to window which I missed! OK, I fault, but it was a flipping 1mm dot! He has all the tools himself, so I was a bit pee'd off!
