A reason to Tank

This shower room i'm on is only 6 years old and the tiling was supplied by a local bathroom showroom where everything is supplied . The tiles just peeled off the wall with soggy plaster board . The Shower handle was not siliconed and the grout was obviously not water resistant . This is not even a power shower..

That was an awful lot of water ingression.... that new installation should last years now..

I'm not sure , it's not powered - is that what you mean?

Yes - sorry it's a family shower , get's a fair bit of traffic , but then you'd expect that with teenagers etc

Even with teenagers it's quite disturbing the state it was in. sorted now tho

Nice work mate. Was the water ingress purely through grout failure or was there any other water leaks (reference to you previous posts)?

lack of silicone around mixer looks like the main prob is that tubbed adh that was used ;

Yes tubbed gear judging from the colour/consistency , tiles came off whole even on the dryer areas .
yes Daz the damp was all the way along where it seemed it had gone through the grout but especially under the shower where the shower handle had not been siliconed . All pipes etc were dry .

The only addy you could get in my immediate area was rapidset or tubbed. You would have had to go to the city suppliers for bagged addy suitable for walls so almost every wall is done in tubbed. Thankfully there is a TileGiant now.
