adjustment time,suction issues

I'm laying 250x360 ceramics on a bare skimmed wall (well dried out)
switched to powered ad (polymer/cement based) instead of tubbed stuff and did a small section this evening to test but very little adustment time.
I may be too slow messing around trying to sort lippage/plumb.

what primer will slow down the suction , and is damp sponging walls beforehand a no-no ( wall is conc block,cement plastered, gysum skim finish, ie not pb)

I presume you're using a rapid setting adhesive?? if its walls try using a slow-setting one, you'll get plenty of time.

If you're using a cement based adhesive on a skim finish, you should be using a primer anyway. Use a primer from the same manufacturer as the adhesive.

Same as bri. Last thing you want is a tile falling off and bashing someone on the head. If your not confident get a pro in.

Just prime as others have advised. No need whatsoever to wet wall or tiles before fixing.

2 neat coats of manufacturers primer recommended. I will get some and hopefully this should give more adjustment time.

What primer are you using ? does it not say to dilute ? normally it's 3 or 4 to 1, or at least the last lot I used was ?????

Alan is right, unless it is a pre-mixed primer similar to those in some tanking kits. Neat primer may well form a skin that could peel away from the substrate
