I'm laying 250x360 ceramics on a bare skimmed wall (well dried out)
switched to powered ad (polymer/cement based) instead of tubbed stuff and did a small section this evening to test but very little adustment time.
I may be too slow messing around trying to sort lippage/plumb.

what primer will slow down the suction , and is damp sponging walls beforehand a no-no ( wall is conc block,cement plastered, gysum skim finish, ie not pb)
