I think it's important to let the customer know all eventualities as said above. Otherwise, especially if you get a twisty customer you could end up with them accusing you of the damage.
Forewarned is forarmed as they say. At least then they can figure this into the budget of the job as well.
Being honest with clients is a thing I think we should all look to do. Most will be happy you take the time to explain and will feel your giving a little extra value instead of trying to rip them off. May just make the difference in you getting the job as well.

Bang on Devo! Honesty is the best policy!!!

gaz its important to learn how to straighten walls and floors yourself rather than relying on plasterers!!

Totally agree mate, as soon as I get on my feet and have made some money back I will be doing a plastering course.

I went to look at the job tonight and turns out I was probably worrying too much! When I worned her what could happen she completely understood and mentioned that she knew a guy who has just finished a plastering course.

She asked me about tiling over the exsisting tiles which were pretty flat but managed to get her away from that idea. Would have caused a problem with getting the lid back on the toilet system anyway.

Just need to print the estimate and give it to her now!

Cheer everyone for your advice!

Right, i got the job! Will be my first paying job. She wants me to do everything including removing the old tiles, she originally said she would do it herself.

I have a new problem now though. It is tiled behind the toilet and sink. I will have to take the toilet system off which should be ok but will i need to completely remove the sink too? Just wondered if I could take the bolts out and get behind it. Maybe a stupid question this but just wondered!!

Once again I am in your debt guys! I have a couple weeks to sort it all out as i start on the 25th.

I have got another job since I last posted as well. I got the kitchen walls in mosaic I mention in another thread. I have under quoted that one really but it should only take a day and I should make nearly £100! It'll be good experience for me anyway!
