The straps in my Alpros were caked in adhesive so just removed them. Just drag them along or use masking tape if its a big floor. Got some nice thick velcro from eBay so feel a refurb coming on any day now.

I foiund Alpros to be the best knee pads in the history of knees.

Replacement straps can be bought from Englebert Strauss.
