I know I keep bringing this thread back up but I want to learn and get more experience.
I have a van and some tools and a website, I have been doing jobs I know I can manage mainly for friends and family so far. I still have a few days per week that I can give to someone who needs a hand. As I have the van I can drive to you. I don't mind just doing a bit of mixing. I just want to pick up some tips and even make a few local contacts.

your a bright fella with a sales background mate, so put an advert out there. get some work, ie bathrooms , conservatories etc and see if you can get in with a local fixer who you can sub the work out to..so what you are actually doings in labouring on your own job, and learning a bit too..
benefits are:
you'll get the experience you need, bit by bit over time
you'll get bit of money for your advert etc from the fact your labouring.
you build a rapport and close working frienship with the fixer who done your work, so theres that future trust.
AND they earn a good wage for there skills and their teaching you

you see,you have to look at both sides of the coin. the people on here all want to help. but when they are doing there own jobs, its really time consuming trying to teach another person, whilst keeping on schedule to finish there own job..they could actually lose money by having someone around...
you need to identify exactly what it is you need to learn? it needs to be specific, in order get you from a-b...ie is it floor setting out, or ufh, or tanking or just tile setting miles under your belt...only you know whats missing or needed...
be bold mate, get the work in and offer it about..you will have some knack of catching the fish and the tiler can show you have to cook it but...it is hard but, the guys on here do give an awful lot of help and its not always easy to take people along with all the good will in the world...theres insurance and h&s and all sorts of criteria now that has to be considered..
i have got 2 people coming to give me a hand over the next couple of months, ones from manchester (he's a utd fan too!!) lol and the other is an nice fella from cheshire and i am sure if i help them, then they'll share any big jobs with me that is a bit too much....so its a 2 way street...also, its unfair to ask a local tiler because you are reducing their work potential and they do have families to consider too, especially in this climate...
