Promote that angle, linked to design etc and your into your own little niche market.

I registered with Trading standards Buy with confidence and find it very good. It has more than paid for itself and you also get a good priced add in the Yellow pages to boot, saves a few quid!! (it all helps). But must admit if you can get on good terms with your local tile shop you are laughing all the way to the bank. When I started up I just kept going into the shop most days and when they gave me my first customer I turned up with cakes now on top of their recommended tiler board and on first name terms with all the chaps/chapets. It don't happen over night but will over time you just have to hold on and good jobs do come happy days!!

thanks sstilingservice. I had thought about registering with Trading Standards. it costs 115quid in Brighton and only one other tiler is listed in the area so am glad to hear that its a winner. I asked in Topps the other day how I could get on their list but there's a queue and they don't offer a very good service to their tilers.. I reckon I would be better off building up a relationship elsewhere..
