Anyone had trouble with these?

Did a floor a few months back. 1970's house with t&g floorboard. No deflection. Floor only 3square meters.
floor covered with no more ply. And used nicoflex adhesive with superflex grout. ( 3mm joints)

the floor has cracked about the width of the room on where I know there is a joint in the no more ply.
going to take it up and re lay.
has anyone had any trouble or used these in the past?

On the box the only info I have is.monterroy solo cemento. 333mm square.

Did you tape the joints on the NMP?

No!
It was the first time that I had used cement board.
I know its my fault and it will ave to come up and be re laid, just don't want to do it again and it happen again.

Tape and stagger the joints, have a quick skim over the tape with the adhesive you use to stick the boards down.

Used their mega strength adhesive , but didnt know I had to tape the joints. The boards were staggered. Just watched the video and they only mention to tape the corners?

NMP say you should apply a bead of their Mega strength adhesive between joints . I would think that the sub floor is the issue. I have used NMP for many years without issue.

I've only ever used their mega adhesive between the joints, and have yet to have any comebacks ! I agree with sir ramic something prob has happened with sub floor!!

I think your right.
i will have a good look after lifting the floor.

I know I have little experience but I would doubt it is due to not taping the joints the floor is clearly not strong enough... Sorry BRI don't have a go plz mate lol.

The only time NMP told me to tape joints was in a wet area. Bathroom floors not really a wet area as such....basically a wet room then tape joints....unless of course they have changed instructions in the last 4 years ?

Which Nicobond adhesive was it? The rapidflex is good but the trade one quickflex is nowhere near as good. I had a few problems with the quickflex and was told to put admixture in it.

dont think its the tile adhesive, it's cracked along a joint in the nmp. I should have glued the joints.
the floor was in good order. I'm thinking maybe the screws didnt get hod of the boards, but will post what I found and some pics when I re tile in a few weeks.

Personally I always ply. I recomend 18mm even for over boarding I will only use a minimum of 12mm if I cant get away with 18 ie door thresholds etc. What ever you are tiling into needs to be made as solid as you can possibly make it. Try and turn what ever your working on into one big solid lump. Ill check all floor boards are solid gripfill any joint I dont like the look of and glue and screw ply to the deck screwed at approx 150mm centres.
