anyone layed Copper Honed Slate?

Reading back to your original post - its walls and floor to be tiled in 600x300mm honed slate so you will have to spend that extra time setting out to bond all the joints!

Personally I am not sure plasterboard is strong enough for 12mm slate!!! Don't think I would be contemplating doing it. I suggest you get a tile and weigh it and work out how heavy a m2 is going to be before you go any further.

Thanks for your advice about the weight issues grumpy,I had them weighed and it was 30kg without the adhesive and grout which is borderline really or just over as the max is 32kg.
Anyway I put up 12mm hardiebacker board all round and now seems solid and can take up to 45kg, so fingers crossed all should be ok.
