Anyone tried profix rapid set fexible yet, made by BAL ?

As above , got a sample from my local supplier for free to try out, retails at under £10 a bag, was wondering what it is like, anyone ?

Its stocked by ctd, come in normal rapid set and flexi,and it aint bad, only comes in grey though.

I know Dave Im not Brave enough to use it, sticking to Mapei for a few pounds more is great peace of mind, was just curious !!

I know a few fixers who have dropped down to budget adhesives to save a couple quid, then when a prob arises they ain't hapy bunnies...:smilewinkgrin:..

I used it a couple of times last year, and it seemed ok, no failures yet, but only time will tell. yourve got me a bit worried now dave.

But to make a cheaper product than what a comp already makes means one thing to me...cut backs on additives...or why would it not be the same price..

Just playing devils advocate here for a second, its bal, they are a reputable company and their products carry a warranty, are they introducing a product for the economic climate we are in? could they always have had a product as cheap as this available in the good times? Will they guarantee it to do what other products do?

I also never mentioned a product brand...just in general some comps have manufactuered cheaper adhesives and they have not just started doing this, they have been out a long time...

Profix is a decent adhesive but as mentioned only comes in grey its made by BAL and has a 10 yr warranty not as good as bal i must admit but its defintley not the worst adhesive on the market

I may be wrong but it is my understanding that the profix range is butech in a different package. BAL produce it for porcelanosa but it is not profitable to produce it in the small quantities that porcelanosa sell so they put it in another bag or bucket and call it profix. but it is not under the BAL guarantee.

i used with ditra-mat on appartments .Good stuff and no problems with it.If there was a problem who do you ring.........bal technical???
