started tiling, customer (wife) has discovered that there doesn't exist a grout in a colour she likes:rolleyes5:

what do I do with all these bits of tile ? seems a shame to dump them.

Also: I agree about the leftovers. It always seems a shame to dump perfectly good (new) tiles in the skip after a job but thats what I have just done with the tiling of the mother in laws bungalow.

End of job 2 x packs of tiles left. We just sent them to land fill.

actually I cant throw whole tiles away so am putting three packs of tiles in garage, probably stay there till we move or I drop something on them. Finally managed to get rid of the offcuts, amounting to around 30 tiles, in my personal landfill site(old pond excavation).

Progress! got the new floor in
half the new boards down, hope nothing goes wrong under there!

new floor, lightly sanded, stained (Rustins) and varnished (Bona Mega..4 coats) mmmm, shiny!

leaving the job for a few weeks whilst I go to Aberdeen to do son's bathroom. Its on the 3rd floor of a 100 year old block; replace lath and plaster, tile all over, new shower, wc, basin, rad, fan, lights, floor tiles etc. Tanking the shower cubicle will be a new experience.
I'll be the one in B&Q (Wednesdays) who looks like he knows where every thing is.
