Do you know how a notched trowel works?

I don't know what you mean by this. If you mean how to use one. Of course I do. It's just I've always used s 6mm for floors and walls on every job I've done. I've just bought a new 10mm squared notch for any future jobs. I just wanted to how better it would be working with it.

You asked why it would be a nightmare to tile an uneven floor with a 6mm trowel, the benefits of using a larger notch, let's say a 10/12mm, will enable the adhesive to level out any minor dips/humps due to the adhesive bed being deeper.
