Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

I had a big problem with topps supplying me with bal micromax and that scratched some tiles I had fitted and the grout looked terrible . Result though topps are paying for a refit

Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

latest update
B&Q send tile sample to manufacturer (Johnson) .According to Johnson wrong grout was used.
Costumer will be back from holiday next week we will call B&Q on tuesday. I will call mapei on monday
any suggestions ?

Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

It will be interesting to see what Johnsons say is the 'right' grout. Chances are that B&Q won't sell it!!!
I refuse to fix anything from B&Q anymore, it's just not worth the hassle.

Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

Agree bugs, ever since i had to lay 57m of their polished porcelain. Never ever again!

Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

I've actually had customers say 'we bought the tiles cheap, can you make your labour cheaper'
'No' is funnily enough my reply.

Re: B&Q tiles scracth from grout

I grouted the tiles with mapei FF color code 114,. I think it is dark grey alot finer then mapei ultra plus .Tiles have scratched again. I have tested with wet household use scotch brite, the one with green pad behind sponge ,I rubbed on tiles ten times, I can see slight scratches.
B&Q offered customer £30 refund and still saying wrong type grout has been used. on box there is not any explanation about what grout to use at all.
I have no idea where this is going now.:mad2:
any suggestions ??????

Looks like there is nothing else you could do other than telling the customer to complain again for a refund & then shop about to find another tile. There's nothing more you can do. You've used the best of the best out there!
