Back Tiling after 2 years.

Hi guys, just a little note to let you know my story. (Sorry if it bores you).
I was in the corporate world for all of my working life until the age of 36. I basically decided there must be more to life than work and money. The cost to me was I didn't see enough of my children or wife. I handed my notice in to the shock of my company and waited eagerly for the 3 months notice period to come round. In this time I booked mtself onto a 9 week tiling course in Hainalt. The day came when I swopped my company Jag for an Escort van and I am telling you the sense of relief was amazing. I completed my course and did really well. I realised that a 9 week course was never going to make me a pro tiler but it gave me a lot of the basics. I then went and worked for 3 months on a building site in Brightlingsea to gain more experience. I have to say I felt like a new boy at school going on this site with my brand new tools. I know the other tilers took the pi s but I didn't care, I had finally broken free.
To cut a long story short I ran my business for 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
2 years ago I had a call from my old company to go back and take up a uk sales managers role. In a moment of weekness and the offer of a very large wage packet I gave in and went back.
My aim is to finish at Christmas this year and start tiling again. I have concerns and am nervous ref the advances in tile sizes etc. I am sure I will soon get back into this. If there is any Essex Tilers out there that I can pass work onto if jobs to big for me let me know. Anyway thanks for reading. I have kept up to date with this forum and enjoy reading the comments daily. Many thanks Dean.

Good man Dean, don't be put off by the new format sizes, they were new to all of us at some point and a lot of us never had the support of this forum 🙂

Good luck Dean, never been in an office work so have no idea what it entails....change is as good as a rest so I'm told.
