BAL White Star or Mapei Keraflex

About to start tiling bathroom walls with 25 x 38cm ceramic tiles and being a DIYer was after something with a longer pot life. The White Star seems to be quite highly spoken of on here for a tub mix and people also say Mapei is good - which would people say is the better option the white star or the keraflex? Thanks

I would opt for keraflex out of those 2 choices.

welcome sire - I have used white star in same situation in the past and it was fine. Most professional tilers want to use a cement based adhesive on walls because it gives better grip, is cheaper (per square meter), can set much more rapidly ( we dont always want a long "pot life") and is really a better adhesive in the long term (less likely to go "soft" when wet).

You may find it easier to use white star as DIy-er - you can use it straight oput of the tub and cement based adhesives are much easier to mix using an electirc mixer (more expense for a novice).

Your tile is over the recommended max size for white star.
I don't know much about other brands i like BAL and always use them. A bag of BAL single part flexible will be cheaper than white star, easy to mix up and as a DIYer the 5 hour pot life should be ample time to complete an average wall.
I'm sure other brands of powedered adhesive on here are just as good as the BAL equivalent. I wouldn't use a tubbed adhesive.

Blimey thats pretty unanimous then Keraflex it is! Thanks for all the feedback with tiles this size should I be using a 6,8 or 10mm trowel - walls have all been boarded with Marmox
