I have to say that Bal white star is NOT SUITABLE for floors.....mainly because of the "dispersion" and drying times............that said......here is a video about WHITE STAR VS SPF.......

I am not suggesting for 1 minute that you have gone about it the right way..........you have not.......but.........after you have pulled it all up and used a SPF or a 2 part......watch this...........

and then watch this:

White star IMO is amazing...but.....it is a dispesion adhesive.....and is only suitable for small/medium size format WALL tiles...........that said,

Its really good gear for the job intended by BAL..........

It is just another thread where someone is doing a job they know zilch about.. happens way too often .. Wake up peeps and smell the coffee.

I have just discovered I have used Bal white star on the floor by mistake! The floor consists of 18mm WBP plywood secured every 200mm between centres on top of floor boards. The plywood was also primed with bal sbr. The tiles are 151 x 151mm Victorian tiles.

Have just about finished the floor tiling and was not due to grout till end of the week. The big question is can I get away with the white star or will it all need to come up. I'd rather lift them now than do it with all the bathroom furniture installed........can't believe I got myself in this situation!!!!

Any help greatly appreciated

You're lucky you clocked it now rather than after you'd grouted etc to be fair.

Get them up, scrape the adhesive off (should come off okayish if you're quick) and then use a decent cement-based floor tile adhesive and I'd probably go down the two-part route, so you'd be using a polymer liquid and a cement adhesive.

As this is a forum for the novice/Diy/2 week course/Established Tiler and others we should be here to offer advice and the correct way forward.
Everyone can make a mistake so let's all climb down off our high platforms and provide the answers required.
If I'd posted some of the replies above 3 years ago I'd have been banned, so although most should be taken in jest, those more cutting should remain in the Arms for discussion.
Again just my take on the thread.

My point that I have made before. If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread then sit on your hands !
I am sure we have all had a rant now and again and yes I am guilty too.
As much as something may wind you up try not to make a bad situation worse.

Its no good getting angry at DIYers or the DIY sheds etc....they wont go away and who here can say they have never done DIY ?
The people come here for advice so why not show your professionalism and either give it or opt to keep out.
