Hi All
Much appreciated if anybody could confirm the best sequence with a bath/panel on a job coming up.
I've to put thermal boards down, matting then self level.
It may be the Wedi bath panel system or frame and hardiebacker.
Is it best to have the frame or panel system firmly in place then thermal boards, matting and self level up to it or i can't see it been the case the bath goes in after the thermal/matting,slc and then sits on top of the new surface?
Cheers

I put in the bath panel frame first, make sure the timber on the floor comes higher then the finished floor level, then put down floor insulation, heating matt, then i Silicon between the timber on the floor for the bath panel onto the insulation boards, this stops any levelling compound running out underneath, then i fitt the bath panel after the floor has been tiled, If ever there is a problem with the bath waste or pipes then you can remove the panel, or access trap if one has been fitted easier and with out damaging the floor tiles.

If it's the wedi system anyboby have a sequence of the correct way as theres no frame or timber on the floor and thats what i'd be self leveling up to.
Looking at the Wedi systems manual and i'm sorting of grasping how it works, basically it's siliconed in on the vertical sides.
Learning all the time.
Thanks

How thick are the wedi board you are useing for the bath panel? if you aren't useing aframe i would guess it would be some where around 25mm board and upwards to give it rigity!
you could lay the wedi board on the floor 1st let it run under the bath so as it goes past where the bath panel is and then lay timber like door stop thickness and screw it to the wedi on the floor then run a small bead of Silicon along the timber, once slc is dry you can then unscrew timber and remove if you want to or you can leave it there and fix wedi bath panel on to it. wedi do metal brackets with spikes in that help hold it all in place with the aid of Silicon too.. hope this makes sence, im not the best at explaining would rather be doing it

take a look at these http://www.wedi.co.uk/step5.php if you leave your under floor heating mat away from the bath panel you can screw these brackets down threw the slc and wedi into the original floor! Make sure you dont put the under tile heating in the way!!!!!!
