Hi,
First I'd like to say hi. I came across this site doing some research on tile restoration and found the information on here very helpful. I recently moved into a new flat and the bathroom is looking a little tired. Ideally I'd like to do a full bathroom restoration but don't have the funds at the moment after forking out for the deposit. So in the meantime, I thought if I re-grouted the tiles I could inject a bit of life into the bathroom for the next couple of years.
There are plenty of guides on this and I thought it would be something I could do myself with a bit of elbow grease. However after coming across this site I am not so sure. The bathroom floor tiles aren't standard ceramic but some sort of stone, I think Limestone? I've attached pictures.
They appear to be polished and have seen better days. The floor tiles beside the bath/shower screen have become rough and discoloured with a white residue from water collecting there of time. Limescale I'm guessing.
Could I just get away with cleaning, regrouting & sealing the floor tiles or would I need to polish them as well? If the later is required could you recommend anyone in East London for the job?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Will
