Apologies mods of this needs to go elsewhere.. please feel free to move it or bin it!

Riiiight.. here goes....

We've been in our first house nearly 2 years now. We've (well ... more like I'VE!) done everything else bar the bathroom. It's an old 1800's cottage so the bathroom was in a pretty bad way. Solidly built but nasty and OLD!

I decided a few weeks ago to RIP it out and start from the beginning.

First task was to move the hot water cylinder from in the bathroom to a new cupboard outside the room (thanks to Scruff from ultimatehandyman.co.uk for the advice!)

Now you see it...

Hi TFS.. thanks for the kind words! yeah im pretty chuffed with it all, bar the Silicon episode! I don't think its bad for someone with ZERO experience anyway! I certainly never expected it to be perfect 🙂

Steak and a nice chateauneuf du pape for me tonight! missus is away to see the inlaws.. free house!

no, its not. i'm sorry if my comment came accross that way as it wasnt intended to - i think youve done an awesome job. I just meant that the small imperfections in the tiling will always be there and you will always know they are there, so if you feel that it wont frustrate you seeing them everyday then I dont see why the siliconing would. Hope that makes better sense!

Another job I was dreading, fitting the towel rail, and refilling the central heating after all the pipe re working / moving

All done (just got to put trim on the pipes and fit collars, PHEW

Nice Dave,

Jeez you've spent some hard earned.....

er...you know a yellow handled lever valve means gas.

Its alright to use them for water though.

You can buy chrome pipe rad snaps for the towel warmer, its a bit late now to swap for chrome plated 15mm.

Mike... what if the flex hoses go t*ts up 😉 (service valves built in to hoses)

I know Bob me old mucker, the yellow valves are full bore 22m... the red ones weren't , all fine for water, if it stops gas eh

i use gas ptfe tape also for all my plumbing

will be painting the pipes for the warmer in a chrome paint 🙂 snap ons look poo im my opinion and its such a short run
