Hi

As I said in my intro I'm a DIYer and have a little previous experience of tiling - a few floors and the bathroom in my last house. I live in Northern Ireland.

I'm now doing the bathroom in my current home and have a couple of questions.

1. I'm laying ceramic floor tiles and the hallway floor is oak parquet. I'm not too worried about the slight change in level but would like suggestions about how to finish the join. Do I need to get some sort of threshold strip? Would Silicon be adequate to finish the small gap between the two?

2. Looking at the fabulous pictures on the site - I probably shouldn't as I'll only be disappointed with my results in comparison - I see most of you tile directly onto the bath and finish with Silicon and it looks great. I used a bath seal strip on the bath in my last house and had intended to do so again. Is the way you guys do it a lot harder to do - should I just stick to the bath seal?

Any and all advice welcome.

Thanks for that 365 drills - I have finished my floor and though your product would have been very useful for the pipes I had to make do without. I was fairly lucky that my rad pipes and the pipe for the cistern were at the edges of tiles so I was able to grind approximate circles for them. I'll definitely keep the product in mind again. :)

Are there instructions for posting pohotos - do I have to upload to somewhere like photobucket first?

Upload your snaps to any picture handling site. (I use facebook!) right click on the mouse to copy the link of the photo.

Click that square box above and then follow the instructions in this picture below:

Thats how it works on this site.

Just thinking 365drills - the kit you recommended includes diamond tipped drill bits for drilling tiles, yes? If so can you recommend a UK based internet supplier as I'll need to drill the floor tiles for the bath panel fixings. Thanks.

That would be us!

Thats what we do / sell

We stock over 37 different size diamond core drills for drilling holes into very hard porcelain tiles.
