best cutter for traventine tiles

What is the best wet and dry cutter for traventine tiles is it a rubi dry cutter please help?

Travertine can not be cut with a dry cutter (the score and snap variety) it will either need to be wet cut or, dry cut with a grinder with a diamond blade. As for which is best, depends on your budget, the size of your tiles and if it is for a one off job.

I prefer scoring with my rubi then using angle grinder. Make sure you wear eye protection and a dust mask when using a grinder! All the best!

My rubi bridge cutter slices through travertine very speedy and acurate

wet cutter only, and don't waste your money on a cheapy one from the diy sheds even if its a one off job ,it would be better to hire a decent wet cutter from a hire shop...

Not sure of the DU machine? It's a basic line from Rubi and you would then need to purchase the correct diamond blade for what you are cutting. All you get with it is a ceramic blade. add a few more punds to the total then.

hi There if youur using a grinder which is perfectly fine, make sure its an electroplated Blade with a continuous rim finnish this will reduce chipping. The raeson for electroplated is the diamond is exposed as opposed to diamond held within the metal bond commonly used for cuttting porcelain and ceramic. Metal bonded blades tend to glaze over and become smooth when cutting large quantities of travertine, marble and other very soft natural stone tiles. Never use an electroplated blade on porcelain, the blade will cut fine but will wear out very quick. Hope this helps. When dry cutting usinga grinder always use a dust mask!!!
