best result when grouting

How do you get the best results when you grout floors or walls. I all ways find when the grout is dry off it shrinks a little bit. what is the best way to prevent that from happening?

mix the groght to recomendations of the bag do not overwash first wash should be a slurry ment to blend the grought lines second wash with a damp sponge not wet clean sponge every pass pull in one dirrection non sanded grought let it almost set up before taking off excess.this will also prevent acrlic bleed sorry cant spell to save my life
