Morning all

I have dug around on old threads and am still confused as to what folks think is the best tool for removing old tiles! Should I be thinking SDS or manual tile remover tool??? Trying to build a decent selection of tools without breaking the bank!!

Thanks all!!

There's also this type of thing.

You hook behind the tile and whack with a hammer. There's one with a flatter wider blade part, and a metal lump on the back so you can whack that part and then pull the tile off. That red handle one in the picture doesn't seem to have the metal bit on the back of the blade to hit so not sure if it's mean to be hit or what. Can't seem to find a picture of the one I'm talking about.

I use a number of different tools. Buy a "wrecking bar"...sometimes referred to as a utility bar or pry bar. Small, but very useful

I think sds is the best
you need bolsters and pry bar too if think you will be taking out lots of old floors.
It takes too long with hammer and chisel. I got cheap sds from b&q does the job as much as expensive sds you don,t have to spend hundreds of pounds on sds

Just bumping some of the tiling tools related threads. This thread might not be current discussion, if it isn't, just ignore this, and it'll soon drop off the list. Don't worry if you bring it back into current discussion yourself though, the content within it could be useful for somebody. So feel free to add to it if you have something valuable to add.
