best tubbed adhesive for floors!?

I don't know if you have Ardex available but they have just introduced a new range of rapid set adhesives that have extended bucket time. Ardex X77S an X78S - both have bucket time of about an hour and can be grouted after 11/2 hours.

Check them out if you can.

Use BAL Single Part Flexi, as Turkish said the pot time is pretty good and it's easy to work with. I'm also pretty new and not the quickest, what i'm trying to do is sort out a workable area of floor, cut and dry lay the tiles, then mix enough ady for that area, give it a few minutes to settle and tile away.

It might not be the quickest method but i'm concentrating on being neat rather than really fast. If you have a customer who wants to get on the floor the same day (or you want to grout the same day) then go for rapid set. Within three hours you can grout, just don't mix up a bucket and then go and have a cup of tea!

Spenny, you never stated what substrate you are talking about. The advice given on this thread is general advice. If you say what the substrate is we can be more specific.

You really need to go back and speak to the customer and explain that there is a problem with the adhesive that you used and do the job correctly.
The floor WILL *** up and you WILL get a bad reputation if you do not.

Where do's a **** poor job come into it, I said that if they think they can save some money they will "try" it's down to the installer to put them right so covers his/hers own back, The customer will be on the phone to you when the first crack appears. If the tiles are crap your;ve still do the best job with what ever materials are at hand.
