Recently had underfloor heating installed in a bathroom and I am having trouble with condensation. Can anyone tell me the ideal settings for a bathroom to try to prevent this? Is it more prefereable to have it set to target the air temp or the floor temp? Also is it prefereable have it on a constant temp or to have it set to a timer?
I would be very grateful for any advice.

Yes the walls are are insulated and I have had 2 fans installed, 1 above the shower and and outside wall extractor fan, the condensation is mainly on the ceiling.

I'm no expert but it appears to be. It's an old house but I didnt have this problem with rads.

Condensation will always build up on the coldest area, check the insulation above the ceiling . Your 2 fans should remove the condensation though. Do you have them timed to stay on after the lights switched off?

tapatalk on my HTC

Many thanks for your help, I'll double check the insulation. Both fans are set to run at least 5mins after swithching off the lights.

Cheers

Paul

The only difference between Rads and UFH is that the UFH is spread over the floor area and heat will rise up fairly evenly where as with the rads the heat rises up more so than radiate into the room...IMO
So what seems to be happening is that more heat is reaching the ceiling and that must be cold as to form condensation. Well thats my look on it.

You can warm up your underfloor heating with the help of electric fireplace. You can also use the many types of fireplace available in the market.

decking myself at this oine...sorry but i had too lolol

maybe the op should install an electric fire right next to the bath?

Rads work primarily by convection so the heat circulates from the radiator upwards to warm the ceiling and the top part of the room first. Nderfloor heatin,g works primarily as a radiant panel so the energy is radiated rather than convicted. Typically this will heat the bottom part of the room only ( 2meters ish) and very little warmth will be at the top hence the ceiling will be much colder than it was with rads. That is why you will get condensation now but did not before.

So at least you now know why it is happening.

I suspect that the only way to solve tis would be ventilation but in all honesty I am not certain. perhaps a call into warm up themselves might help. It am be that the fans you have installed are not offering enough air change to stop the moisture build up.

Hmmm..... An electric convector in a bathroom to help overcome a problem with a radiant panel heating system..... No offense intended but not really the safest or the most logical advice.
