Think i might be biting off more than i can chew with this one. I've got a customer next week who want brazilian slate laying differing sizes of 400x400 600x600 and a couple of 900x900! Ive done quite a bit of slate so i know what it's like but not this big! I told the customer because it is uncalibrated there will be a variation in height and i will do my best to get them level. Problem is i can't see me laying a 900x900 tile onto adhesive and lifting it again to apply more or less adhesive, surely the suction alone will break my back?:mad2:

Please let me know if you have layed tiles this large and how to go about it. Also would i be better off with a grinder rather than the wet cutter?

If you haven't got a large enough wet cutter, you deffo need an angle grinder, but a large bridge wet saw is what I'd recommend.

Those 900x900 are bound to weigh atleast 20kg. If I were you, I'd use a mid bed, or a thick bed trowel. That way, you wouldn't have to lift them every time to adjust the levels; you'd just tap them down a bit more with a rubber mallet. Just don't tap too hard, or the purpose of the thicker adhesive bed is defeated. Also, make sure to immediatly remove excess addy from the grout lines.
