I keep meaning to take some pics of work with my propper camera but always forget to take it, though I do use my phone, it's more to show the missus if shes interested anyway, and I don't have the leads for it to upload them either.

Though I've got a new phone today but not opened the box yet to see if i get cables in.

I use my standard Canon compact camera but like you have found that even at it's most zoomed-out it's not good enough for small bathrooms.

Having only just started tiling I've been taking pictures of every job and have even given customers copies of before and after photos on a CD - it costs nothing and it just adds to the service. The photos are a good record for me. I can go back and remind myself how something looked, I can show prospective customers the quality of my work and in some cases it helps them visualise the finished product.

I use a camcorder before and after!
Before for when I do my quote just incase I forget something ( it has been known ), also the customer can have a copy of before and after, and as already mentioned it can be shown to other customers for styles and for the quality of your work. I take a few stills aswell.

My canon ultra compact has a 28mm lens, but there are cameras with wider angle lenses than that. One at a 'reasonable' cost is the compact NV24HD - as the name inplies its a 24mm lens, much like estate agents use to make a small backroom into a grand ball room! Spit! Hate them! on amazon its arount £150 or Ricoh do one, but is twice the price
Happy snapping

£206 after their cashback offer, VAT refund via my company (we are VAT registered so claim it back).

Amazon doing a great deal for one with cashback at the moment

I also use a Sony Cybershot but it hasnt got a patch on the above.

£208 also from Amazon

If you can get yourself a SLR camera (or as you call it a fish eye camera!) then do not hesitate. At these prices entry level digital photography is well within reach.

I do a lot of photography and use both. But the Nikon for work and the Cybershot for parties etc
