Cara, support for tiling??

Hi,

Just had a client on the phone wanting a mosaic for outside. The support stucture (which the mosaic on its baseboard will lay on) she referred to as Cara. I checked the spelling with her as I've not heard of it but a quick search and nothing comes up.

Anyone know of it?

Thanks Ken they're getting someone to call me back.

I remember from the conversation that it was going on that support as it may be needed to access drains underneath.

I used carafinus board which was like a foilbacked plasterboard

I think cara is the name of the manufacturer

Thanks I'll follow that up. The client said she spoke to the company and they said it was suitable to have the mosaic on top (it will be 1.75m x 1m, with 10mm pieces that's 26kg per m2).

Here's the support system, I thought they needed access underneath the mosaic panel but it's 'for drainage' not 'for drains'. It's essentially raisers at the edge of the paving slabs.

My concern is there will be a panel 1.75m x 1.5m resting on these at the edge but I need to check the clearance underneath the centre of the panel and find something to go under there.

It's a decent size mosaic at last, should be about 10,000+ tesserae

Will do, they want it for the end of May, beginning June so I'm getting the drawings off this week.
