career in tiling

hi guys , I'm looking for a career in tiling, is tiling a stand alone trade? ie would plumbers and decorators do tiling on the side. any advice would be cool

In answer to your other question,there are people who tile, there are tilers & then there are professional tilers.( Not to mention the expert tilers) They are all members of this forum... Time is experience. I doff my cap to them all !!

Hi DM,

I would recommend it as a trade, as it's very rewarding if you like to pay attention to detail and like hard work. I reckon it's an underrated trade, and people don't realise how technically involved it can be and therefore don't understand the costings and processes involved, but have a look at some of the stunning work that's possible on this site, you'll be amazed.

You also get to meet some great people on the way, and develop lots of new relationships. Once you get a good reputation, people don't like to use anyone else.
