I have been asked to go out and quote on a floor and the customer wants Cathedral Flooring, I have an idea what it is like, but not 100% sure, anyone want to shed some light on it, a picture would be very grateful. Cheers

I have done them though neale........very pleasurable job to do..........time consuming but nice work......The ones i have done were hallways........but i think the Cathedral name is just the pattern style......

do many tilers do these victorian floors/cathedral floors? its something im very interested in learning, anyone know what training centres run a course on it and what they charge?

22 sqm hall and pretty much the same design as your picture Dave, quoted £640, price was fine, but can't get to it until start of october, would like to the job, would make a change from the normal bathrooms and kitchen new builds!!

Thats a good price for that type or tiling............nice job when it is finished though.....

PTS do short courses over the weekend for Victorian style tiling, don't know if that is the same thing as Cathderal though.

Not sure who else does courses. Check out our sponsors sites to see if they show anything -NETT, Chase and Diamond.

That is too cheap mate but your call. I charge more than that to clean it let alone fix it.

This job will bite you in the arse mate unless your prep work is not 100% on. The customer will be expecting no lippage and no excuses will cover it I know one guy he charges anything from £75 - £200 m2 depending on how intricate the design is.

Best of luck mate

Ive never done this type of work before. Do you use a thinner bed of addy as the tiles are really small?

i guess the quote has already been agreed now, but atleast its an opportunity to have a go at something new and it will give you a better idea of what to charge and what is to be expected from such a job next time, plus, its still money in the wallet  how long do you think it wil take to complete the job?
