I've decided number one on my wishlist is a new multi tool.. and I think I'm gonna go cordless.. being a Bosch fanboy I'm naturally leaning to the GOP 18v-28.. anyone got any other recommendations?
I would go with that . I have a makita but like you only because of batteries and charger , i cant be doing with all different chargers and batteries

About three weeks ago my Bosch Cordless Multi tool went into the skip. I’m not sure how others found it but mine just kept on dropping the blades. Eventually it just stopped being useable at all. Also the battery became very loose. It must’ve been just over three years old.

That's worrying!

I have a silly amount of Bosch tools and this is the only one I’ve not been happy with. In fairness to Bosch I don’t purely buy their blades. Blades are universal though so should be useable on all machines. If you still to Bosch blades at probably four times the cost, you might be ok
Yeah I'm the same with the blades, I tend to buy them from Aldi or Lidl :confused2:

I have been looking at the corded Bosch GOP 55-36 which looks an absolute beast.. but its weighing up whether I can live with the cord

I switched from Bosch corded to dewalt cordless 3 years back when I went as cordless as realistic due to a little accident. Since I’ve only used the Bosch once as it is more powerful and I was cutting some very hard timber.
Never use big brand blades, usually eBay bulk jobbies

Ive got all Bosch blue cordless grinders, drills, saws and multi tool, I don’t always buy the star lock blades for multi tool but I’ve got like an adapter thing so that I can use any blades and never had a problem with blade falling out but the battery coming loose on the multi tool IS a pain

I listen to what certain sources and reviews tell me and I can’t argue with their advice in the last ten or so years they’ve been giving it to me.
Top of the class Hilti! They’re on a level all on their own. Stepping down from that is Metabo, build quality vs price means they’re a no brainer for most of us. Fesstool were good but they’re in trouble at a corporate level over a price fixing issue or something and then you come down to the likes of Dewalt,Makita,Bosch,Milwaukee etc, mid level tools that hire the best engineers for what they need. They need to offer a tool that lasts 3 years and then pack in so you buy another one and they need to do it so the design-and build costs are approx 10% of the retail price which you can imagine is not easy to do. The moral of the story is if you don’t want to pay for Hilti by Metabo.
