I got told that on a commercial vehicle you are not insured if you are not a name on the policy, even if you have the owners permission. Not sure if that's true or not, maybe someone could confirm.

I actually meant the other way round, so say my mate wanted to borrow my van, unless he is named as a driver on my policy, then his own insurance doesn't cover him for driving a commercial vehicle. I guess it's the same the other way round as well then, your commercial insurance doesn't cover you driving a private car.
got 3 at the moment! had to do a 'Drive for change ' course last week after getting pulled over for crossing some chevrons. once got a 28 day ban for doing 106 in a 60 but that was when I was young and irresponsible:lol:
Clean licence at the moment - touch wood very very strongly ! - all my previous points for speeding have dropped off now but had to stop riding bikes before I killed myself.
I have been band from driving 3 times totalling 4 years.:yikes: I have also had fines totalling £8,000.00:yikes::yikes: I also got 28 days at HMP Winston green for non payment of the fines:yikes::yikes::yikes: but my licence is clean now and has been for 10 years
Having recently moved house I thought I'd better change my address with DVLA, so my license has come back clean. It did have some points still written on there, although expired, so I was excited to get it back (as sad as it sounds). 🙂
Got flashed by a speed camera van a fair few years ago. Hiding as usual.
