Right. It's taken me all day but I have finally woken up! (The woes of having a two year old that wakes up every few hours...I am sure I am not alone!)

I remembered I have a swanky none-invasive damp meter!

Checked a handful of none washed tiles, all 9% (+/- 0.7%).

Checked a handful of washed tiles, ranges from 25% to nearly 50%!

At least I have a way of measuring them and telling when I can get cracking with the fixing! Misses isn't best pleased, especially when I pointed out she could have sorted and washed them months ago just as easily as I could have! ;)

Will update the thread when they have fallen under 10% in case others in the future find the drying duration useful.

Thanks for all your help and input chaps. As always, invaluable and respectful. The baseline of why this forum, and those on it, is excellent.

Update!

Random selection of tiles checked Sunday evening showed that that where the leant tiles were in contact with each other, they were not drying correctly. I turned them around and today, a random selection all appear to be in the 8 to 9% range.

So. If anyone ever stumbles on this thread in the future...take the advice above and arrange them not touching as much as possible. Then dry for 2 to 4 days, turning as necessary.

Thanks again for the advice all! Have a lovely day!
