Hi, We are contract cleaners and have a job which involves cleaning black porcelain floor tiles in a toilet area and then to possibly seal them. Suggestions on products to use please.

I like LTP. Go in to a tile giant and tell them exactly what you need and they will sort you out with the right stuff.

Thanks for speedy reply. Havnt dealt with them before so will look up our nearest in Bath area.

You will need to establish whether they require sealing, prior to just purchasing and applying a sealer.

When you say clean, what exactly do you have to do? Remove general dirt and smudges, or are the tiles stained in places?

What are you planning to use to clean the tiles? Is this likely to remove any possible previously applied sealer?

have you established if they're polished porcelain or vitrified (glazed) porcelain?

Further to Dougs post you have to question why they are stained now? Is it matt or polished riven or smooth? Because if urine has penetrated it will need to be thoroiughly cleaned and allowed to dry out completely before you apply any sealer

Thanks to all who replied. We have spoken to LTP and Tile Giant and both have given useful advice.

as mentioned above you need to find out what the tile is and what it was sealed with originally or you may end up with a bigger mess to try and clean :8:
