Cleaning tools of adhesive each time is slow - must be a better way?

A

Algy

I'm using an adhesive (Weber.set RapidSPF) that goes off fairly quickly, good for some things but a pain for large areas to tile. Because those large areas always have a few fiddly bits that take time.

So I only get a few tiles done before it starts to go off and I need to then stop and clean up everything. The cleaning is taking longer than the tiling.

Is there a better way to work?

Maybe I just need to shell out for the more expensive delayed set adhesive?

Use slow set for large areas, cheaper than rapid normally.

Yup.......slow set as and when possible. Takes the pressure out of the job.

As CJ, slow set as much as possible, wouldn't bother with rapid if i didn't need to.

Lay all full tiles, then dry cut the tricky ones before you do a mix. Simple........

i very rarely use fast set its just not needed in my game, i always keep a bag of FS just in case i need some though ...... and always have my tools spotlessly clean as i work! with regular washing in the mixer bucket .......

When it gets caked on, a quick wiz with the grinder makes a difference then off you go again, lol.

A spare bucket full of water and a 2" paint brush saves loads of time,

But I tend to use slow set as much as possible.
