Clearance gap for bath panel, toilet and basin

Hi guys

Let's say my floor tiles are 10mm thick and I will be overboarding the bathroom floor with 6mm No More Ply, how much additional clearance for the tile adhesive should I allow for my bath panel, basin pedestal and toilet?

I need to ensure my bath, basin and toilet heights are set accordingly and would hate to get this wrong!

For floors i use this....

A 10mm U Notch trowel, it gives a solid bed of adhesive which is essential and to answer your question the bed collapses to 3 to 4 mm approx.

Never used no more ply so dont know what height it adds.

Why are you wanting to set the heights before you tile? Why dont you tile first then fit the bathpanel, toilet and sink?

Its just the order things have to be done in, I only have one bathroom so need to do things in stages to keep it operational. I cannot afford lots of downtime because I can only work on the bathroom during weekends.

Cheers for the advice, so i'd be looking at around a 20mm gap.

Why the no more ply, whats down at the moment?

Just T+G floorboards.

I've also thought about not siliconing the bath to the wall or fitting the last row of tiles (at bath level) and temporary waterproofing the row without tiles with a plastic sheet of some sort (the walls will still be tanked behind for protection). I can then make final bath height adjustments when the floor goes in at which point i'll then Silicon the bath to the wall, secure it with a baton, fit the last row of tiles and then apply a final bead of Silicon.

Save yourself time and fit the bath once, do it properly first time i.e baton, Silicon, etc.
If you're tanking the walls, a little bit of water won't hurt until tiled.

Your bath panel can be trimmed at the bottom to suit height once tiles are down.

The more you do things out of order, the longer it takes and gets you frustrated:mad2: Believe me, Ive been there and done it!!!!
