computers slow helppp

lo all,can anyone advise me on how to clear my computer,,for 2 weeks now its been really slow,it sounds like a commodore 64 loading up dynamite dan on the tape deck at the mo or should i be getting a computer man in to have a look at it?

There will be many reasons why it's running like a dog (usually **** downloads :lol.

You probably need to get a specialist local to you to take a look.
It could be a matter of uninstalling a few unused apps and defragging the HD?

i have removed unuused apps last week but to be honest it hasnt helped much,,can i de frag myself ?

look for system tools click that find defrag and click that and start

I'm a MAC user, but from memory you need to:

select "programs"
select "applications"
select "system tools"
select "HD defragment"

I could be miles off but hope this helps.

Defragging may not really speed your comp up tho'.

jf your computer hasn't been defraged for a long time it will take a fair amount of time to do it

try emptying the rubbish bin to may help (the one on the computer ):lol:

Download spybot search and destroy and ad-aware - both available free.
Download, update then run each seperatley with restarts in between.

This always used to sort my old laptop out!

Wish I could get my lappy sorted? I was trying to get this bloody iPod touch thing connected via wifi thingyme......and knackered my security settings up.

Got iPod connected fine...........but stuffed up the lappy. Which is why I haven't been on much lately. The bloody writing and keyboard on iPods are too small, and I struggle to see them......oh, old age is great:hurray:

You can down load a program called Ccleaner.. use this at least once a week and it will remove all the crap left behind from browsing etc.. keeps th e memory in tip top state..
