Yes the product is good, used it last week with black Silicon on a spalshback/worktop. Gave an excellent finish.
Slight moan about it though is that it is very fiddly trying to get the middle section out before applying Silicon.:mad2:
Hi Infidel,
Thats great, good on ya, I'm pleased that you were pleased with the results.
On the other comment, I can guarantee that the main reason for the clear part of the tape not coming away easily (i.e maybe pulling off the silver off at the same time)is that the surface may look clean but the chances are that it wasn't. Even wiping down with a dry cloth or similar does not always get rid of all dirt or oily deposits.. The surface needs to be de-greased in other words.
I think that by using CT you have just highlighted a common problem that people were not aware of previously, i.e if CT is finding the surface difficult to stick to then the Silicon will also find the same problem (albeit it would not be immediately apparent at the time of application).
We recommend using a 100% ethanol wipe to prep the surface before appling the CT its the only way to be totally sure that the surface is clean and de-greased. It also means that the Silicon itself has a much cleaner surface to adhere to which should mean it lasts longer (doesn't help with mould growth though).
As they say its the 6 p's
Proper - Preparation - Prevents - P_ss - Poor - Performance.
I hope this helps,
Best regards
Andy
