Council work

has anyone had experience (good or bad) in carrying out refurb work on council properties?

I have done a few now Bob, very bad walls and floors and i check all lately with my 6' level and a string if nescessary.price accordinally

Done loads, worst jobs i have ever done...rather go stacking shelves in tesco's than go into most social housing properties...uke:

Done loads of voids (empty houses) in Wembley and repairs in Hackney and surrounding areas, It was the pits never again.

brindle a bit of advice AVOID council work i used to do it with a tiling firm on 10 m2 the walls are ****ed the tenants are horrible nearly every house i went in they were all watching jeremy kyle gettin stoned or just crackheads

If you want a name as a potcher who does work for the council and dont mind waiting for your money then go ahead.

Personally you will get nothing tidy off them and money arrives as per their convenience

i did it when i first started out, not too bad but i got ripped off for my tax on the cis scheme by the contractor, some sharks out there but gues it could happen on any site work
