Creating Smooth Gradient Where Wall Has Been Removed

Guys, as this is two different floors, wouldn't the OP be wise to put in a movement joint too?
I would then only use an SLC on the "lower side" to bring them up together......then tile both rooms away from the movement joint.
Or, if you can't be bothered with an SLC, could you put a Ditra matt down on the lower side to bring the levels up?
