i have had a word with the national training adviser for the CAA and he has had a word with the TTA and they had a word with there liability insurers and non of them have herd a thing about this. if this was legit then they would be the firs to hear about it. i am concerned that this training provider is being under hand and possibly making fraudulent claims.

citb at bircham newton, the college are supposed to make a payment to them to get it registered on the system. so they have my units signed off by the college but not the final payment and paperwork

I will need to pay the citb to finish off, im waiting for a letter to take into college stating that I will make the payment direct and to release the papers to them

I completed a course at STC harlow in april. I wasn't going to bother with NVQ as I knew it was/or will be a requirement to work on site. Site work was not what I wanted to do but an NVQ being a nationaly recognised qualification and would normally cost in the region of £1500 I applied for funding. Nothing to lose really.

Got a call from them a while ago, had to confirm I was self employed etc, they then forwarded info to the NVQ powers that be who got back to me to confirm my application was accepted. Asssesment has not started yet and I am awaiting a call.

While on the phone to STC they were keen to get the ball rolling with my application as government funding is going to be stopped in july, whether this is just at STC centres or across the board i am unsure.

As for NVQ being a requirement to carry out domestic work this is the first I've heard. Also I need to have liability insurance to obtain my NVQ.
